Music video Final
This is the final version of our music video which was edited by Doug and Ita. I did other things to help the video that will hopefully make the video more interesting.
Cd case Final
feedback
Good font (appropriate) - thank you i was going for the front to look like a back club entrance
Slightly hard to read - well it looked good in photoshop but when i uploaded it, must of came out wrong
Thursday 10th
today i achieved making the front cover and the first inside layer. their were complications when creating my images so i had to go out and take them myself.
Advert Poster
The poster is to make T look omnipotent and calm in a tranquil enviroment
It also follows the RnB fashion of poster's since it has nothing to do with the cd except for the fact that one of the singers is on the front.

Evaluation 1 full
1. a shot that shows a link between lyrics and/or music and visuals
The words in this part of the song are "Throw you on the bed and take your clothes off" at this point Doug followed through by taking of his jumper. this was not planned but we went with it since it looked like something which was in a proper R&B video.
2. a shot that typifies the way a record company would want their artist to be represented
in this shot it has me in a white hoodie with Doug in his jumper and jeans making us both look like we were in a real RnB video.

3. a shot that illustrates how your video uses music genre
i used this screen shot since it looks like it was out of kanye west's song "Good life" where kanye is singing to the camera but it focusses on his mouth movements.
4. a shot that shows an intertextual reference
This is a reference to (Wiz Khalifa - Black And Yellow [G-Mix] ft. Snoop Dogg, Juicy J & T-Pain) where at the begging of the video it shows wiz walking into the studio in black and white and then walk in to singing.
5. a shot that demonstrates your use of camera
this shot shows that we knew the camera was there in the video since doug chucks his coat the camera unlike some videos were they pretend they dont even see a camera.
6. a shot that demonstrates your use of lighting
in our video we used a strobe light to make the video look allot more professional in my opinion.
7. a shot that demonstrates your use of mise-en-scene
In this shot it shows Drew with his necklace standing in front of a black background. the shot is very simple but it looks really good.
8/9. Two shots which you feel demonstrate something which shows you have watched other music videos
1. Shows objectification of woman which is in allot of videos of poplular artist's video's.
2. we then had me and doug clapping and having the video change in tune with the beats.
1.B. i chose this music video since the entire song is about bringing Dr.Dre back onto the rapping scene and the video does exactly what the song says.
2.B. since the song is about Dr.Dre coming back it shows him working out making him stronger which is meant to represent that he is coming back stronger then ever.
3.B. The video is mostly a Hip hop/ RnB song since the main singers are rappers but the chorus is sung by an RnB artist. The video shows Skylar Grey floating like a dream singing and every time their is a subtle change in notes she changes how she is floating. her character is almost like an angel while Dr.Dre and Eminem are normal men to represent that she is not normally in the world of rap.
4.B. Daft Punk's "Derezzed" music is nothing but a reference to the movie "Tron Legacy" which is a film that they made the music for.
5.B. in Eminem's song "Not Afraid" it shows eminem fly out of a pit of despair and into the world. this shot i think was good since it captures what the video is meant to represent.
6.B. Also in the video while he is falling it shows him on a black background with a white light which is to show that even in the darkest times there can be light.
7.B. The song has the line "You can try read these lyrics of my paper before i lay em" the video then shows him crunching up a piece of paper with lyrics on it.
8,9.B they the exact same reason's as the one to my video
1.shows objectification
2. shows movement in the beat of the song

Analysis
I designed the case to be a sort of journey from outside the club to the main stage. i wanted to make it so that it was like the buyer was at a actual consert of the artist
Evaluation 2
Take your finished video and grab some stills from it and put them on a document alongside grabs from your digipack and advert and to annotate the document to show how they all go together.

Joining them
The advert poster joins the video since it shows T almost omnipotent in complete peace in his surroundings and in the video we have edited it to make it look like T is shining like a star.
The Cd is joined since it is meant to represent the rough bits of going to a concert on the RnB scene and in the video we never clearly show were we are which is meant to show that we are getting ready for a concert and we are practising which explains the relaxed nature in the begging of the video.
The video is mostly set in a black and white setting since it looks more effective than the version that was set in colour. We also got inspiration from the remix of Black and yellow which start's off as black and white but then changes into colour except we tried to keep ours as fully black and white.
Evaluation 3
Our initial feedback was from our class, we watched each other's video and then pointed out bits that were good or could be improved on. By this point we had roughly 1 minuet of footage for our video since it took us a while to put all of the footage and effects into final cut. Once we got our feedback we learnt one thing our video which needed improving which was my character's overall look since in the rough cut i just looked like some normal guy and not a RnB singer, so what we did was get a new set of clothing and did my bits all over again. But we also got positive feedback from the class such as our shots with fast flashing light's which made the whole video have a more glamorous effect to it, the lights were made using a strobe light which Doug brought from his home.
I also asked members from each group about what they thought was good about our video and what could be improved, i also asked Dave our teacher to give a bit of criticism so that we could make the final piece as good as possible. Another thing which needed to be edited was the fact there were no girls in our video what so ever which was not good for our video since the entire song is about women dancing, we asked Ita if she could help out and she went and got some of her friends who are doing a dance course and then recorded them from the neck down since it also shows objectification which is in alot of other music video's. After the initial feedback i made a facebook group where people could watch the video and then wright a comment on it and we could use that comment to improve our final video. The feedback which we got from the facebook group was pretty much the same as our class feedback so it was pretty simple to improve on. once the final video was made i posted it on the facebook group so that people could watch it and make any final criticism but it was an alround positive response, from start to finish people always knew our video was an RnB genre which was very good for us since that meant we didn't have to go out of our way to make people know that. i also got feedback from my digipak so that i could improve on that aswell but the only real criticism i got was that it needed to be a bit more legible since people could not understand what songs were meant to be in the final piece, so what i did was change the colouring to the text and made it glow and then everyone was able to understand it.

I made this presentation to show how this music video was made it also shows images from websites and programs i used.

This is a prezzi of the media technologies my group used to make our music video.
To film we used the HD camera that was given to us by the college which was used for the majority of our video so it came in really handy. For editing we used Doug's macbook since it was alot easier to keep all the edits on one computer so that we could always find it straight away. The black and white effect was used for pretty much the entire video so that it looked like a real music video. The time distortion effect was actually accidental when the original was meant to have a very fluid look to it but we personally thought it looked better with a sort of jagged look to it making it look like more cuts then their actually is. Quick edits were used since we learnt that all music video's have a total of about 150 cuts so we tried to do the same and we did a total of about 183 cuts which i counted. We used popular website facebook to make a place where people could give us support and critism about the rough version of our video, which proved to be very helpful in the way that we changed my character's image for the alround genre of the video. I used myspace to send a message to the maker's of the music "Git fresh/Deep side" to just let them know that we were making a video using their music incase they didn't want us to make one, there were no complaints so we went on ahead as planned. We also used youtube as a way of putting the video out into the world to be viewed by any and all, the video has had a total of 35 views so far and 2 likes which means it is the most viewed video which i have uploaded. we used imovie as a way to upload all the footage from the camera's since it was quick and simple. we also used final cut to edit the video into what it is now from its original state of a bunch of clips from a camera.
