The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album became the best-selling soundtrack of all time. It has been certified diamond in the US (sales of at least ten million) with shipments of over 17 million copies. Worldwide, the sales are at a staggering 42 million copies. In addition, Houston's "I Will Always Love You" sold 12 million units worldwide.

The soundtrack features five hit singles for Whitney Houston: "I Will Always Love You", "I'm Every Woman", "Queen of the Night", and two Oscar nominated songs "I Have Nothing" and "Run to You".

Jason’s Lyric: Soundtrack  contains music from a large group of musicians who were famous at the time: Lenny Kravitz, Tevin Campbell, Gerald Levert, El DeBarge, Usher, R. Kelly, Brian McKnight, Boyz II Men, Melvin Edmonds, Keith Sweat, Raphael Saadiq, Christopher Williams, Joe, and D'Angelo.

Waiting to exhale Soundtrack  the soundtrack became a huge hit featuring appearances by some of the biggest names in the industry, including Whitney Houston, Brandy, Toni Braxton, Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Mary J. Blige, SWV and TLC. All the main performers on the soundtrack are African American women. The album remained at number one on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart for five weeks, going 7× platinum, on Sep 4, 1996. It spawned the #1 hits; "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" and "Let It Flow", the #2 hits "Sittin' Up In My Room" and "Not Gon' Cry" and the #8 hit "Count On Me". All songs were written and produced by Babyface, except for "My Funny Valentine".

The album received a total of eleven nominations including Album of the Year, Song of the Year for "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)"and three Best Female R&B Vocal Performance nominees, then won Best R&B Song for "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" written by Babyface at the 39th Grammy Awards in 1997.

The Preacher's Wife Soundtrack features songs performed by Whitney Houston, who also stars in the film. It is the best-selling gospel album of all time, and has sold an estimated 6 million copies worldwide.

The lead single, "I Believe in You and Me", became a top five hit in the U.S. and was nominated for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 40th Grammy Awards, as well as for Best R&B Album.

"Step by Step" was another hit single, peaking at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. "My Heart Is Calling" became the soundtrack's final release.

Glitter Sountrack Album As a concept album of the sounds of the early 1980s, Glitter features contributions from dominant figures of the period: Rick James wrote "All My Life", Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis reworked their song "Didn't Mean to Turn You On" and wrote with Carey the retro track "Want You", and Cameo are featured on lead single "Loverboy". The album also includes collaboratons with rappers Busta Rhymes, Mystikal, Da Brat, Ludacris, Fabolous, Ja Rule and Nate Dogg.

TV Channels

Kiss TV is a commercial music television channel from Box Television, available on the Sky and Virgin Media digital television platforms. The playlist predominantly consists of mainstream hip-hop, Dance and R&B.

It is based on the format of the Bauer owned London radio station Kiss 100, which started as a pirate radio station in London in 1985. Kiss TV celebrated the 20th Anniversary of its launch in 2005.

NightClubs

Marquee

Marquee is a multi-level nightclub centrally located in the hip and trendy Chelsea district of Manhattan. Get lost in the luxurious deep colors of the Marquee decor with rooms washed in the dim light of purple and gold neon. A full bar serves a number of specialty cocktails and is known for custom-mixed martinis. Every Friday night at Marquee is dedicated to hiphop music, and famed DJs are brought in to spin tracks on a throbbing sound system. VIP amenities such as bottle service, extra security, private booths and secured entrances are available by reservation only. Marquee offers space for 600 patrons and is available to rent for private events.

Pacha

Pacha is a famous chain of nightclubs throughout the world. New York's Pacha is a massive four-level space, spread out over 30,000 square feet, that serves up live music by famed hiphop artists and singers. Various rooms and spaces are located throughout this party playground, including a private cabana area on the dance floor and a shower lounge that showcases dancers that don't mind getting wet in front of huge crowds. Pacha also features an eclectic collection of art. Pacha hosts large dance parties with world-renowned DJs such as Samantha Ronson. Special events such as record release parties are also held at Pacha and an annual New Year's Eve party draws a number of celebrities.

Blue Note

The Blue Note Jazz Club is a live music venue located in the heart of Greenwich Village, just one block from historic Washington Square Park. The Blue Note features live music by jazz musicians and R&B artists every night of the week. Bi-weekly late night shows feature newer jazz, soul, R&B and hiphop artists. The Blue Note serves classic American meals, such as baby back ribs, fresh seafood and pasta. The vibe at the Blue Note is classy and dark. Romantic dim lighting makes the space quaint and calming, and a well-dressed mixed-age crowd keeps the ambiance lively and fun.

Radio Channels
R & B music has been a staple of the American music landscape for decades. Starting out as a more urban version of traditional blues, R & B became one of the precursors of rock and roll. The genre grew from there, becoming a staple on the radio with the advent of Motown and the soul movement of the 1960s. Today, R & B covers a wide range of genres, from contemporary R & B artists such as Rihanna and D’Angelo to modern soul acts like Amy Winehouse and Joss Stone.

Origin 

R&B was originated by Motown records which was based in detroit. it is meant to represent Rhythm and Blues but has broken off from the original genre and has become its own. the communities associated with R&B are usually from "the ghetto" "the streets" and "hell's kitchen". the stereotype singer of R&B music has usually several common features. 1. wears chain jewellery 2. has originated from the places shown above 3. is black. but that is not true "Sam Adams" is white and grew up in Massachusetts. 

Modern

Nowadays people can go onto the facebook page to "Modern R&B" and talk about their favourite artist's, watch and share video's of their favourite record's and can see recorded footage from the artist's live performance's. They can also go onto the artist's webpage and gain information about where the next tour will go and buy tickets to go and see them live.
